Ceramic Tiled Shower Cubicle Restoration in Rochdale, Manchester, OL11

This customer in Middleton , Rochdale, Manchester had trouble with her bathroom shower cubicle grouting and mouldy silicone sealant. They were arranging viewings to sell their house but were worried that this shower cubicle would turn potential buyers away. They were rightly worried as it was in a really bad state,shower room wall grout was cracking everywhere and water was getting behind the tiles which over time can be a shower cubicle killer. They showed me what needed doing and we quickly arranged a date for the work.

For cleaning tiles and grout in this shower cubicle I used our acid based grout colouring pre treatment cleaner which is an effective ready-to-use cleaner designed to lightly etch and also remove dirt, soil, soap scum and hard water deposits from grout joints. The cleaner worked as a treat on most areas. I left the product to dwell in for about 2-3 minutes and scrubbed with grout brush and then rinsed thoroughly with clean water.
After cleaning I dried out the shower area and removed the old mouldy silicone sealant. When I removed the silicone around the shower tray then quite a lot of water came out from behind the silicone. I was expecting this due to holes and crack in grouting all over the shower cubicle. This gave me a bit extra work as it had to be dried out with heat gun.
All dried out I fixed all the holes, cracks and loosen grout bits with good quality water proof flexible beige grout and dried the bits out with heat gun again. Grout repairs done I started with Grout Colouring with our epoxy based grout colourant which seals and rejuvenates the grout. After grout colouring I wiped off the grout colourant excess from the tiles and the shower cubicle was ready for the silicone sealant application.

To make the shower cubicle water proof I used a white good quality mould resistant silicone sealant, it left a really nice and fresh look and the shower cubicle restoration was finished.
Customer was over the moon with the work and wished she would have found us earlier, as she didn't enjoy her showers there anymore.

Sometimes, even small mistakes during tiling can create major problems. One of our clients recently experienced this when their tiler failed to seal the tiles and did not properly clean off excess grout and adhesive. The result was a persistent grout haze that seemed impossible to remove. After consulting two professional cleaning companies , the client was told the haze had seeped into the porous tiles , making it essentially permanent.
