Terracotta is a natural, porous stone that absorbs dirt, dust, and residue very easily—especially after renovation or construction. Following the works, this floor had become dull and ingrained with building residues, masking the beautiful warm tones that terracotta is known for.
Our Process
1. Post-Construction Deep Clean
Using professional-grade tile and stone cleaning products, we removed building residues, dust, and ingrained dirt. A rotary machine and wet vacuum allowed us to lift contamination from both the surface and the pores of the terracotta.
2. Neutralisation & Drying
Once cleaned, the floor was fully neutralised to prepare it for sealing. Allowing the tiles to dry properly ensures the sealer bonds effectively.
3. Sealing
We applied a premium colour-enhancing impregnating sealer to protect the terracotta and enhance its natural colour. This type of sealer does not add shine, but keeps the surface looking natural while bringing out the depth and richness of the terracotta tiles.
The Results
The after video shows how the floor regained its warmth, with a much cleaner and more uniform appearance. The sealing process also means the terracotta will now be far easier to maintain and resistant to future staining.
