Marble Stone Bar Top Cleaning, Polishing and Sealing In Peter's Fields (Civic Quarter), Manchester City Centre, M4

Marble bar top Cleaning and Polishing

On this occasion we received a call from a big bar-restaurant company who had problem with their Manchester City Centre bar MarbleBar Top. As this is one of the biggest and busiest bars in Manchester City Centre , with years their bar top got very worn out, full of acid stains and dull due to the amount of customers they get trough their doors.
Marble has been a popular bar top finish for decades, a classic look to use in traditional restaurant bars, as well as up market wine bars and eateries. The most popular marble finish we have noticed is ‘Carrara’ marble – a rich white marble with a striking black vein and fabulous depth of colour.
Carrara marble bar top was also used in this bar and as they have very high standards in this busy bar, they called us to get their marble bar top back to its best. It took us couple of days to complete the job as it's a huge bar top and with the middle bit there's a lot of surface which needed restoring

Cleaning and Polishing Marble Bar Top In Manchester

For cleaning/polishing the Marble bar top we used our Diamond burnishing pad system moving up from 200grit to 3000grit, this system cleans and polishes natural stone. With this system we used water as a lubricant for the diamond pads, also by using water we didn't create any dust, just the soiled water which got removed with wet vacuums and then rinsed with clean water. When all the marble stone cleaning/polishing was done we filled all the holes with special mix of resin and marble powder. These holes were created by acids (alcohol, limes, lemons etc.) as marble is acid sensitive stone and when the sealer wears off it gets eaten by the acids (changes colour, starts to
crumble and holes appear). After we finished with filling holes we left the bar top to dry till the next day.

Marble Bar Top Sealing

When we returned the next day, we did the final dry polish on the marble bar top and then started sealing. For sealing we used high quality clear impregnating sealer. We added three fat coats in total and after each coat we let it to dwell in for about 20 minutes and then wiped off the residue with cotton cloths. Surfaces like this bar top needs to be sealed at least 3-4 times a year because the sealer wears off after thousands of drinks and spills on it and when the sealer wears off then the problems will start.

Marble Bar Top Restoration

We offered them even shinier finish by applying shine powder on it, but customer was very happy with the result already, so higher shine wasn't needed.

Client was really impressed with the job and booked us in for maintenance in different locations around England which we were more then happy to agree on.
