Tips To Keep Your Bathroom Tiles and Grout in Good and Healthy Condition

Don't we all just hate showering in mouldy and dirty showerroom. If not taken care properly then bathroom can be a big problem area for people . Discoloured or mouldy grout, mouldy silicone, cracked and dirty tiles, water leakage, mildew buildup, just to name few.
These common problems can be horrible to deal with, but most importantly research shows they can be a health hazard andresearch shows that showering can make you seriously ill.

shower tile and grout cleaning

Most problems with wet rooms and bathrooms start from our frequent showering. Study made by BBC showed an average household showers 2.6 times a day which makes around 950 showers a year.
It's not the actual shower water making the damage always, problems start from poor or blocked ventilation systems and finish with the bodycare products we use in shower. If you find mould in your bathroom then first thing to look at would be the ventilation system. These things hardly get checked and cleaned, so it can get blocked easily.
If you're having problems with discoloured grout and tiles then it's a problem with your shampoos and body care products. Most of these supermarket showering products contain acids and chemicals that can ruin your tiles, grout and silicone.

We have listed few Tips and Tricks for you to keep your Bathroom Clean and Healthy:

  • Clean your shower cubicle or bathroom regularly with soft acid free products.
  • Make sure your wet room is ventilation system is working properly.
  • Leave a window or door open after a shower to make sure no damp builds up in your shower room
  • After Showering rinse the showering/body care products off walls with clean water!
  • Seal your grout and tiles (If tiles are sealable).
  • Check regularly for any cracks or holes in grouting.
  • Clean your shower head regularly!
  • Replace silicone sealant after every couple of years (Only use highest quality Silicone Sealant).
  • Use natural shampoos and soaps if possible.

If you have Natural Stone Tiled Shower Room you have to be extra careful with sealing and cleaning frequently. We would recommend sealing at least once a year. Most Natural Stone Tiles like Marble , Travertineand Limestoneare acid sensitive and can be damaged heavily by acid based shampoos and soaps if stone sealer has worn off. Also it's extremely important to use cleaning products only meant for natural stone! With most supermarket products you will be slowly washing off the stone sealer.
Always remember all problems are preventable with right maintenance.

We're thrilled to share how we completely transformed it into a fresh and inviting space once again. Step 1: Old Grout Removal Our renovation process began with the careful removal of the old brush-in grout. The existing grout had been incorrectly applied by a previous business and was already coming loose in several areas. We meticulously removed all the old grout, ensuring a clean and smooth surface to work with.
