Travertine Floor Burnished With Diamond pads In Sale, Manchester, M23

Customer contacted us about his Travertine Tiled Stone Floor in Sale , Trafford , Manchester which had never looked good. It go laid about a year before he found us form internet. Customer was never happy with the stone floor because it was not sealed properly and tiler left them with dirty grout and some acid damage spots all over the travertinefloor.
On arrival I assured them, that the floor can be restored to perfect condition. I did a quick tester for them and we booked in a date for the job.

Travertine Cleaning and Polishing

Travertine Tiled Floor Cleaning and Polishing

For Cleaning and Polishing the travertine stone floor we used our Diamond Burnishing Pads System. This time we started with 200 grit instead if 400 grit. This was just to remove some of the acid damaged areas in the kitchen. We used some clean water as a lubricant and by using water we didn't create any dust. After each pad we rinsed the floor and removed soiled water with our wet vacuum. From 200 grit we moved up to 400, 800, 1500 and 3000 grits, each one getting finer and leaving a beautiful polished stone finish on travertine tiles.

Travertine Tiles and Grout Cleaning

After the 1500 grit we also cleaned the grout lines. We did it after 1500 grit because after all these pads and water on stone floor, dirt had softened in grout lines and we were able to clean it using our grout brushes. Of course we rinsed the Travertine floor with clean water couple of times after this, as this was the last water on floor. After rinsing we left the floor to dry till the next day.

Travertine Tiles and Grout Sealing

On the arrival on next day we checked the travertine tiled floor in different places with our damp tester to make sure it's ready for sealing. Luckily all was good and we gave floor the final polish with very fine 3000 grit. No water was added to burnishing with 3000 grit.

Travertine Floor Cleaning and Sealing

Final polish given, we started sealing. For sealingtravertine floor and grout we used our standart good quality colour enhancing impregnating sealer. This sealer will penetrate in the stone and won't affect the polish, it only enhances natural patterns and colours in the stone.
At first we did a tested and knew this stone floor will take 3 generous coats of the sealer. After each coat we left it to dwell in for about 20 minutes and then polished the excess off with dry cotton cloths. When sealing was done we only had to pack our things and the floor was finished.

Travertine Floor Honing

Customer was very happy with the result of work on his Travertine Stone Floor and recommended us to couple of friends as well, which we were chuffed about. Also he took our yearly personalised maintenance plan for his travertine floor. We also gave our customer all the everyday maintenance info needed: https://www.qualitytilecare.co.uk/maintenance-tips-and-advice-for-your-natural-stone-floors-walls

At Quality Tile Care, we love bringing outdoor spaces back to life, and our recent patio renovation project in Westhoughton showcases our dedication to quality and detail. This patio had seen better days, with algae, black spots, and worn-out grout making it look tired and aged. We're thrilled to share how we completely transformed it into a fresh and inviting space once again. Step 1: Old Grout Removal Our renovation process began with the careful removal of the old brush-in grout. The existing grout had been incorrectly applied by a previous business and was already coming loose in several areas. We meticulously removed all the old grout, ensuring a clean and smooth surface to work with. This step was crucial in preparing the patio for a fresh application, setting the foundation for a long-lasting finish.

While the tiles were still intact, they were covered in carpet glue, adhesive, paint, and years of accumulated dirt.
